TOWN OF PINCHER CREEK WINS COMMUNTIES IN BLOOM AWARDS

October 8, 2020

Today, at the virtual Communities Bloom Conference the Town of Pincher Creek won two first place awards in the following categories; the Best Floral Display and the Urban Forestry Award.   Rhonda Oczkowski, from the Town of Pincher Creek recreation team along with the Communities in Bloom committee watched the awards together live online.   Pincher Creek competed with communities across all of Canada for this year’s awards.

The awards are proudly received by the Communities in Bloom committee on behalf of the many organizations and residents who contribute to our community.  Sincere thanks go out to the Pincher Creek Planters for their amazing flower beds, the hanging baskets on main street and countless hours of volunteer work.  The Pincher Planters maintain 24 public flower beds.  Kudos to the Rose Society for their hours of volunteer work and beautiful gardens and roses. Thank you to our downtown businesses who participated in the downtown planter pilot project this year, the planters looked great. Many businesses and community members maintain their own amazing planters and gardens that contribute to our community’s beautification.

Volunteers at the Juan Teran dog park planted 50 saplings to improve the new dog park this year.  Thank you for all your hard work and the hours that went into helping to receive the Urban Forestry Award.

Many thanks to our Town team and specifically the recreation team who help to keep our community blooming and clean!

The awards presentation can be viewed online here.

Congratulations to our community and thank you to all who contribute!
