Happy Small Business WeekOctober 18, 2020
Happy Small Business Week!
Small Business Week is October 18th to the 24th, and it gives us another opportunity to celebrate all that small businesses do for our economy and community.
This has not been an easy year to be in business. I would like to thank our businesses for all the hard work and resiliency they have shown over the last year.
The Town of Pincher Creek currently has 396 licensed businesses. Most of our local businesses are in these top three NAICS categories: construction, other services and retail trade. In 2020 so far, we have issued 49 new business licenses.
Town Council recognizes that the small business community is the backbone of our economy. According to the Economic Developers of Alberta, 80-90% of new business investment comes from your existing business community. We are pleased to be collaborating with the Chamber of Commerce on the Business Recovery Support Program to assist in growing stronger businesses.
Town Council is also proud to be supporting the Pincher Creek & District Awards of Excellence again this year. We would like to congratulate all the nominees for a job well done and for your contribution to your community.
Although it has been a challenging year, it has also been inspiring to watch our local entrepreneurs find creative ways to serve customers, sell products and pivot their business models. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to Pincher Creek. Our local businesses need us, and I would like to remind everyone to support and shop local!
Happy Small Business Week, and thank you to all Pincher Creek business owners!
