Community Safety

Pincher Creek is policed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and our citizens feel protected and secure in a community with a low crime rate and high quality of life. The Town employs one full time Community Peace Officer and one part time Community Bylaw Officer, who enforce the Town's bylaws and certain provincial statutes.

In a country internationally recognized for it’s low crime rate, Alberta takes pride in having the lowest crime rate in Canada. Overall, Canada's crime rate has been decreasing for the past decade, as has our violent-crime rate, according to Statistics Canada.

2023 Property Assessment Notices
March 23, 2023
New Process for Property Assessments
In the past, the Town of Pincher Creek has issued a “Combined Property Assessment and Tax Notice.” This meant that the property owner was notified of their assessment for the year at the same time they were notified of the amount of taxes owed. The new process for 2023 will be that the property owner will receive a Property Assessment Notice separate from the Property Tax Notice.
