The Oldman River Regional Services Commission completes upgrades to LED lighting at its Regional Office in Lethbridge

The Oldman River Regional Services Commission (ORRSC) is pleased to announce that it has completed the installation of LED interior lights at its Regional Office in Lethbridge, with a yearly projected cost saving of $2,800.

The project, which received $8,200 in funding through the Community Energy Conservation Program and the Government of Alberta-funded Municipal Climate Change Action Centre, involved the replacement of the old-school florescent lighting with modern LED lighting. This upgrade will achieve an estimated lifetime greenhouse gas reduction of 15%, which equates to a reduction of 115 tonnes of carbon dioxide over the lifetime of the components.

“The office enhancement will greatly impact municipal users, Commission staff, and visitors to our building, while at the same time making an impact on our environment and creating energy efficiencies impacting our bottom line,” says ORRSC CAO Lenze Kuiper.

The Oldman River Regional Services Commission is a Municipal Service (Planning/GIS/Subdivision & Development Appeals Board and Assessment Review Board) shared by fifty rural and urban Municipal members in southern Alberta.

The Municipal Climate Change Action Centre is a partnership between Alberta Municipalities, the Rural Municipalities of Alberta, and the Government of Alberta. Funding for the Community Energy Conservation Program is provided by the Government of Alberta.
