Finish the day with dinner at Fuzion Bar & Grill or Seasons Cafe & Eatery, followed by an evening walk under the twinkling lights of downtown Pincher Creek. If you’re visiting during the Hometown Holiday Fest, cap your day with live music, Black Friday sales, Santa, and the Parade of Lights!

Waterton in Winter Experience



Morning — Scenic Drive & Winter Walk

Depart from Pincher Creek mid-morning and enjoy the 45-minute drive along Highway 6 to Waterton Lakes National Park. *Be sure to fuel up before you head out - the gas stations are closed in Waterton from October to April.
 
Even in winter, the views of the mountains are breathtaking. Bundle up and take a stroll around Cameron Falls or walk the quiet streets of the Waterton townsite — often transformed into a snow globe scene.

Afternoon — Lunch & Local Exploring

Enjoy lunch at one of Waterton’s year-round eateries (check seasonal hours — Wieners of Waterton and Lamp Post Dining Room often open weekends). 
 
Explore the shoreline of Upper Waterton Lake, perfect for winter photography or a short snowshoe.

Evening — Return & Relax

Head back to Pincher Creek in the late afternoon and warm up with a comforting dinner at The Hut Cafe or Antonio’s Pizza & Wings.

Insider Tip: Stop at Castle Mountain Viewpoint on your way home for one of the best sunset photos in the South Canadian Rockies!

Winter Regional Adventure Experience



Morning — Hit the Trails

Start your day early and head to Syncline Castle Trails, just west of town, for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking through scenic forest trails.

Afternoon — Warm Up & Explore

Return to town and grab lunch at Uncle Al’s Pizza & Pasta or Green Bamboo Peking House, then visit the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village — their winter exhibits showcase local heritage and holiday charm.

Evening — Cozy Up & Unwind

End your day with dinner at Boston Pizza or Soo Sushi, followed by a relaxing swim or skate at the Pincher Creek Multipurpose Facility.
